22 Oct 2006: To say that Moshup is just moseying down the coast would not be overstating the case. On the 12th he moved down the Outer Banks a bit south of Roanoke Island, and on the 13-14th he spent some time on Ocracoke Island. To get there he may have cut across the Sound, or he may have followed the beach the whole way. (We have to be careful when interpreting these data--just because two points are connected, doesn't necessarily mean the bird followed that path, rather than a more convoluted route.) He explored on the 15th, moved down the coast a bit and settled down for almost a week before making it to the Cape Fear vicinity on the 22nd.
